Rooms laid out the way they are at home. A room lights up when something happens there, so you can see at a glance that your mother is in the kitchen.
One overall status at the top
A single sentence at the top of the page: “All is well”, or “No movement for a while”. Most days you don't need to read any further.
A timeline of the last 24 hours
When you want to know more, scroll down: when the morning started, when someone cooked, when it was quiet. The day reads in a few seconds.
An alert when the home unit goes quiet
If the home unit stops reporting — a power cut, a dropped connection — you hear about it. Silence in the portal never means that all is well.
Privacy
The portal shows movement, not pictures
There are no cameras and no microphones in the flat. Only sensors, reporting short events: movement in the kitchen, a door opened, a light on in the bathroom. From those the portal builds a picture of an ordinary day — and nothing more.
The connection always goes outwards. The home unit sends data to the server, but nobody — not even we — connects into the flat from outside. There is nothing to look into and nothing to listen to.
